Modeling and Estimation of Nickel Laterite Resources Using Geocomputing Methods at North Konawa, Southeast Sulawesi

Administratively, the research area is located in Waturambaha area, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi province. The method used determining distribution and estimation of Ni laterite measurable resources one geocomputational methods, Inverse Distance Wieght (IDW). From interpolation 82 drill points, it was concluded that levels quite high (COG ≥ 1.2%) discriminated dominantly central to northern part some points northwest study while low-grade (<1.2%) distributed northeastern southeastern area. Based on ore modeling parts limonite layers with a thickness 2 – 4 m saprolite ranges from 6 12 m. Waste layer 5-10 4-7 Modeling by IDW obtained measured resource volume 1,196,450 m³ which then multiplied density each (limonite saprolite) tonnage ni 1,854,500 M/T 1.39% average.
